Megan Bledsoe Ward is the harpist and bandleader of the new jazz ensemble Pacific Harp Project. This band is dedicated to exploring new realms of music for harp and rhythm section through the combining of traditional harp repertoire with improvisation, jazz, pop, and original compositions. Noel Okimoto (vibraphone), Todd Yukumoto (saxophone), Jon Hawes (bass), and Allan Ward (drums) join Megan Bledsoe Ward in this jazz quintet.
Pacific Harp Project's eponymous debut album was released to critical acclaim in December, 2015. The album won the 2016 Na Hoku Hanohano Award for Instrumental Album of the Year from the Hawaii Academy of Recording Arts. Their second album, "Play," was released in February, 2019 and has been widely praised by publications and reviewers throughout the U.S.
